Hair Rejuvenation and Hair Growth Laser
Hair follicle weakening can occur in the scalp’s vascular network when the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT disrupts the binding of essential proteins and nutrients to cells in the follicle. In time, this lack of nutrients leads to a weakening of the hair in the follicular site.
Regeneration of new and healthier cells in the scalp can increase hair quality, hair thickness and hair growth. Bio-stimulation using lasers at 650nm and 670nm wavelengths are reported to increase
Nutrient transport and cellular ATP production of cells in the inter-membrane space of the scalp. How does laser hair loss treatments work?
The illumiWave Pro-series laser uses 90 laser diodes at 670nm and 91 laser diodes at 650nm for a total of 181 multi-wavelength lasers to stimulate hair improvement effects. Laser bio-stimulation energy is delivered to the scalp which in turn opens up the vascular network within the scalp by using a cell signaling process. The laser energy delivered to the scalp increases microcirculation by mobilizing calcium stores. The increased ATP (Adenosine-5′-triphosphate) production cascades into increased protein and nutrient production which is delivered up to the hair follicle site.
How often do I come in?
There are 2 packages; a 6 month package and a 1 year package. Most patients will see better results in the 1 year package. Over the course of the year, most patients will receive an average of 44 TX. The most common protocol is 2 sessions per week for 8 weeks, then 1 session per week for 8 weeks and then every other week or twice a month for the remainder of the year. There are also other protocols available. Protocols can be changed to a certain degree to fit the patient’s lifestyle. Treatment time is 20-30 min.
Patient has to wait a minimum of 48 hours in between treatments as to not over treat, but not wait longer than 2 weeks in between treatments for the first year. For example a client may come in Monday and Wednesday, but not Monday and Tuesday of a particular week. After the first year is complete, clients may come in every 1-2 times pers months for maintenance.

Does it hurt? Is it safe?
The illumiWave Pro-series hair regrowth laser is completely pain-free and completely safe to use. Some people report a mild tingling or warming sensation which typically goes away within 20 min of completing the hair rejuvenation treatments.
The illumiwave laser stimulates cell function. The effect is non-thermal in contrast to surgical or hair removal lasers. Yes. Patients can be on oral or topical medications, as well as using certain shampoos or conditioners meant for hair loss or hair thinning.

Who is a good candidate?
As long as there are living follicles in the area to be treated the laser can be effective in stabilizing and rejuvenating the hair.
This laser works on males or females of any race or skin color. If the follicles are completely dead and the patient is completely bald then unfortunately this laser is not the right hair loss treatment for them.

• A $25 rescheduling fee will be due before next session for each missed, cancelled or changed appointment.
